Early life and Career
Ann Hart Coulter was born on the 8th of December in 1961, in New York City, United States. Her age, however, has been debated over (see ‘Interesting Fact’ for more). Her father was John Vincent Coulter (1926 – 2008), an FBI agent who belonged to a working-class Catholic German American and Irish American family based in Albany, New York. Her mother was Nell Husbands Coulter (nee Martin; 1928 – 2009), born in Paducah, Kentucky. She has two siblings; both older brothers; James, an accountant, and John, a lawyer. She and her brothers were raised by their parents in New Canaan, Connecticut.
Coulter worked as a law clerk for Pasco Bowman II of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, in Kansas City, after she finished law school. She engaged in private practice in New York City for a while, specializing in corporate law. She began working for the Senate Judiciary Committee in 1994 after Congress was dominated by the Republican Party. She also has a hand in making legislation responsible for the expedition of the deportation of aliens convicted of felonies. For a while, she was also responsible for dealing with issues regarding crime and immigration for Michigan Senator Spencer Abraham. She became a litigator at the Center for Individual Rights later.
Coulter graduated from New Canaan High School in 1980. She went on to attend Cornell University, where she helped found The Cornell Review and became a member of the Delta Gamma national sorority. She graduated cum laude with a degree in Arts from Cornell in 1984, after which she further pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and also received her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 1988 where she was an editor of the Michigan Law Review. She was also the president of the local chapter of the Federalist Society and was also trained at the National Journalism Center.
As of 2021, Coulter’s estimated net worth is a whopping 8.5 million US dollars.
As of 2019, there was a rumor about her romance with the former Good Times star Jimmie Walker to which she gave no response as she was very conservative in nature. This rumor turned into a fact in 2017, April 5 when she tweeted a tweet “Best of friends, love him, no romance.”
Again after many gossips, in 2013 she said that Jimmie Walker is not her boyfriend but is a good friend of hers and said that they were not technically dating. The 55-year old Ann has never been married though she had dated many renowned personalities like Bob Guccione, Jr Andrew Stein, and Dinesh D’ Souza.
Coulter’s age was disputed in 2002. While she argued that she was not yet 40, The Washington Post columnist Lloyd Grove cited a birthdate of December 8, 1961, which she provided when registering to vote in New Canaan, Connecticut, prior to the 1980 Presidential election for which she had to be 18 years old to register.
Also, a driver’s license issued several years later listed her date of birth as December 8, 1963, but Coulter has not confirmed either date, dubbing privacy concerns.
