Early life and Career
He was born in Seoul, South Korea as the youngest son of his family who migrated from South Korea to Canada when he was in grade 5. When he moved to Canada, he was often outcasted by his colleagues and had to face some incidents which made him unsociable. But he often mentions a group of 14 people from South Korea he was friends with which he referred as ‘Friend Forever 14’ to which he would share his pain and happiness. Talking about his career, he undoubtedly leaned towards his interest; Acting. Therefore he almost begged his parents to go to audition in korea in person to which his parents did not agree at first but later on gave their permission and thus at the age of 21, he dropped out of Simon Fraser University and came to South Korea to pursue acting.
Talking about his early acting period, he started his career acting debut in the period drama The Duo in 2011. In the same year, he made his big screen debut that same year, starring as a supporting character in the film Flu and Secretly, Greatly. It was 2014 when he made his 1st leading role in the movie Set Me Free. This man having enough fame and net worth due to his brilliant acting skills and knowledge was again recognized in the movie, Parasite which is the 46th highest rated film of all time on Metacritic. It also won the Golden Global Award for Best Foreign Language.

But Choi Woo-shik had keen interest in acting therefore, he further pursued acting platform and went to an acting audition in South Korea with permission of his parents after spending 10 years in Canada. When he was in Korea, he again enrolled in Chung-Ang University and majored in Cultural studies.
